Every meal break that we had, I noticed that our canteen is always selling bananas. I wonder then why they do not usually sell other fruits. Some of my co-workers are complaining because they feel “used” to it with that fruit. One of my co-workers said, “Hey! Why are you always selling bananas? Did you know that it is a fattening food? All of us were shocked of his statement. After that incident, I did a small research about banana. Is it really fattening? Read on to find my answer. Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals; these include zinc, potassium, enzymes, vitamins A and C. It has also three essential sugars- glucose, fructose and sucrose. We all know that sugars boost energy. Sweets stimulate our brain. Sweets are the food for our brain. Banana can be a substitute food if you are really hungry. Eating two bananas in one meal can make you feel full. You will wait for 45 minutes until that fruit is totally digested.

Bananas are organic fruit. Nowadays, organic foods are highly recommended to eat since it doesn’t contain bad food essentials. When eaten alone, it cannot gain you weight. But if you add something to it like creams, sugars, butters, chocolates, condensed milk (like in banana shakes) or any foods that contains high calories that must be the big chaos. Eating two to three bananas makes you feel full easily, making you to not eat other foods after consuming the banana fruit. This fruit is also considered as part of the “flat belly diet.” Our body burns calories that we need to keep going every day. People with strenuous activities and sports eat 2-3 bananas every day. The calories that this fruit gives us are very beneficial and useful for our body. The question is- are bananas really fattening? My big answer is NO. We are regulating our own body. If we consume calories that are more than our own body can burn up, that is not good after all. We should set our minds that we are maintaining our normal and therapeutic weight level. We should condition our mind that what we eat is what we are. Healthy foods give us a lot benefit while bad non-sense foods give us extra junk calories.
